Prologue: Sands of A New Time Alfon Istari was born into wealth among the Istari family, who had political reign over Earth. He was referred to as Simply 'The Earth Prince'. Being royalty, he lived a very religious life, praising the lords Chrono and Shinero and praying every night. He reached the age of 17, and was soon ready take his title as King, as his father was unfortunately deteriorating. Ruling as King was not in his fate, however... On the fifth day of the setting moon, Alfon awoke to his castle, his home for years, in flames. He barely made it out of his room before spotting the bloody remains of his father and mother. In a panic, he makes a run for the exit, only to be stopped by a seering pain in his abdomen, only to see blood pouring from his torso. His vision faded quickly, and he soon left this world. Unbeknownst to Alfon, his soul was not lost, however. It was kept away until the death of the first protector, who took his own life after serving for 146 years. Now Alfon was resurrected, having been wiped of his memories by the time god Chrono, and thanks to the powers of the goddess of death Shinero, he could no longer die. Upon awakening, he was handed the codex, a documentation of all known time, past, present, and future. After being given the ultimate knowledge, Chronos gave Alfon his mission and the fake name of Loz, which was accepted, as Alfon had no memory of his previous identity. His mission was to take the codex to the center of the Desert of Loss, to the top of the Lone Tower, where he would guard it for all eternity. Loz accepted the mission, and signed a verbal contract with the God Chronos... ...Unknowingly giving up life a second time... So Loz set off, walking on into the wilderness, a simple pistol and his wits to protect him. The only clue to his past identiy being the scar on his forehead, where his Istarian third eye once was...
